Privacy Policy

The short version

locolocal is a guide to the places locals actually go. We collect the minimum we need to run the app, we never sell your data, and you can delete your account whenever you want.

What we collect

• Account info. When you sign in with Apple or Google we receive a unique identifier and, if you allow it, your name and email. We use this to create and secure your account.
• Profile details. Anything you choose to add — a display name, bio, home neighbourhood, and avatar.
• Your activity. The places you save or check in to, the people you follow, and any reports or blocks you make.
• Basic technical data.Standard logs (device type, app version, rough request data) needed to keep the service running and fix bugs.

How we use it

• To run the core app — your profile, saved spots, and follows.
• To show you and the people you follow each other’s public activity.
• To keep the community safe (handling reports and blocks).
• To fix bugs and improve the app.

What we don’t do

We don’t sell your personal data. We don’t run ad networks or third-party trackers for advertising. We only share data with the service providers we rely on to run the app (such as hosting, our database, and sign-in providers like Apple and Google), or where we’re legally required to.

Your choices

• You can edit or remove your profile details at any time.
• You can delete your account from inside the app — this removes your profile and associated data.
• You can ask us what data we hold about you, or request its deletion, by emailing us.

Children

locolocal is intended for adults. It’s not directed at children, and we don’t knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be highlighted in the app.
